Where does the money go?
Cindy Halstead had a motto…
“When there is an elephant in the room, introduce it!”
So I will just go ahead and answer the question you are all thinking. The Melanoma Angel Network has been created and funded entirely by Founder, Tyler Halstead. In order to do the most good, Tyler has not nor will he ever take a dime out of this organization. In addition to full-time employment Tyler has dedicated more than just his wallet, he has dedicated his life to this cause.
However, as a non-profit organization driven by both “tangible” and “intangible” benefits the true measure of our success will not necessarily be recognized on paper and/or as seen in our annual reports. Nonetheless, every cent generated by the charity goes directly back into one of three causes.
Events and Programs (60%): Sixty percent of all proceeds generated by this organization go directly into growing our COMMUNITY via events and programs. These programs include our Annual Community Gala, our Quarterly Community Building Events, our Buddy Program, and Youth Based Events (i.e. Dodger Night Out).
Charity Partners (30%): Thirty percent of all proceeds generated by this organization go directly into supporting our Charity Partners including the Skin Cancer Foundation and the Melanoma Research Foundation.
Melanoma Awareness (10%): Ten percent of all proceeds generated by this organization go directly into developing our own Education, Advocacy, and Outreach programs to battle the stigma of “Cancer” and better communicate the support needed for supporters.
